| Details: | 01.20.2022- Based on the results of the Level 2 coliform investigation, the causes of the recent E. Coli and TC positive samples are associated to: chlorination pump failures, inaccurate chlorine monitoring equipment and new staff lacking proper training on water system operation and maintenance. The system is in the process of taking corrective actions. The operator is receiving training, EPA approved monitoring equipment is available for the operator and the installation of a new post-chlorination pump is expected to be completed in the next two weeks. The system will inform customers when test results show absence of bacterial contamination.
01.05.2022-The boil notice was triggered by a repeat sample collected on December 18, 2021 that tested positive for E. Coli. Caleb believes that the presence of E. Coli in the distribution samples was due to a malfunction of the control box that activates the chlorine disinfection system. The issue was fixed and the chlorinator is back online. The distribution lines were shocked with chlorine and additional coliform samples will be collected and taken to the lab between today and tomorrow. Lifted 02/28/2022: 02.28.2022-All deficiencies identified during the Level 2 coliform investigation have been corrected. The operator also collected a special sample on February 21, 2020. Test results showed absent of bacterial contamination. System was instructed to collect a compliance RT sample for the month of February. |
