Details: | Due to a suspected but unlocated leak, some 25 connections have been without water since Sunday (4 days so far). Today was the first time it was reported to regulators. The manager has been trying to get plumbers and leak detection equipment to the site but their detection methods do not always work if there is in fact no water running in the lines. She will be posting a boil advisory for all residents directly affected and possibly others if there is a chance of cross connection in the lines. The advisory will remain in effect until water service is restored (after flushing), the chlorine residual levels in the affected area appear normal, and new sample results show no coliform bacteria there. Update 02/14/2019: Based on test results following repairs and flushing, the boil advisory was lifted for all but one residence. The line supplying that residence tested TC+. There are no occupied connections downstream. Resort management believes it was a sampling technique error (sample was collected from a hose rather than directly from a tap). Therefore the boil advisory will remain for that residence until new test results are obtained, probably not till next week. A total of 4 special samples were collected within the ~25 units initially affected by the loss of water pressure - the other three did not show the presence of bacteria. Lifted 02/21/2019: All samples came back absent. They may lift the notice for the final residence. |
