| Details: | I sent the following email to the firm: I am contacting you to see how progress is coming on the changes to the water system that we discussed. As a reminder the following is a list of items that were discussed and agreed to be corrected: Replace water line to the bottom of the well to allow a watertight seal (hard plumbed). Correct by 01/31/2022 Remove leaf litter, soil, and torn insulation from the well house and ensure well house is repaired to prevent the entrance of pests (potential sources of E. coli). Correct by 12/31/2021 After repairs are made, shock chlorinate the well following the instructions I provided in person. Commence monthly source water coliform monitoring (before the UV light). Monthly source water coliform monitoring will be required for a year. Public Notice is required to be posted at the store until source water monitoring reflects that the well is absent of E. coli and any water used for food prep, drinking, and handwashing needs to be boiled. Please let me know of any progress that has been made in meeting and respond to me in writing what the plan moving forward is. I will be visiting the water system tomorrow to ensure the public notice is still in place and to note any progress made towards compliance. Let me know if there are any questions. |
