Details: I received an alert for a total coliform positive sample taken 6/1/22 (Wed) at 29200 HWY 101 N SPIGOT. I called and left a message at 7:35 am for Collin to take 3 repeat samples (one at the original positive site, one upstream, and one downstream) and to call me back. Brian Yelle returned my call at 8:46 am and we discussed taking 3 repeat samples today (6/3/22, Fri) so that results could be known on 6/4/22 (Sat). I provided my cell (971-200-0288) to reach me Saturday with the results of the repeat sampling. I also recommended that they get 4 more sample bottles from the lab to have on hand if further testing was needed. We discussed possible causes of the positive result (sampling procedure, treatment, waterline breaks), but he did not note anything unusual. We also discussed having to issue a boil water notice if any repeat samples came back E. coli positive. I recommended they check chlorine residuals, UV and cartridge treatment, and to look for any broken waterlines. I followed up with an e-mail containing a boil water notice template to use if the results came back E. coli positive, Level 1 and 2 coliform investigation forms, coliform bacteria fact sheet, shock chlorination procedures, and a coliform sample plan template, as well as BMPs for repairing waterline breaks and other public notice templates for operational issues such as loss of pressure. I called Brian back at 9:43 to let him know I was ready to send the e-mail and to get his e-mail address. Brian said I could send the info to kellysbrightonmarina@gmail.com and that they had already taken the repeat samples and were getting ready to take them to the lab. I was provided a number to call tomorrow for updates (503-317-1870). Further actions may be needed pending results of the repeat sampling.
