Details: | After having spoken to the lab and Brian Yelle the afternoon of 6/3/22 (Fri), I learned that the chlorine residual in the repeat samples taken to the lab earlier that morning had a very high chlorine residual which prevented the lab from running the coliform analysis. Brian had been using a color wheel to measure chlorine residual and had recorded about 3-4 mg/l, however, the lab suspected the residual was much higher. Brian and I discussed getting a digital colorimeter (information on a colorimeter option was e-mailed to Brian after our phone call). 3 more repeat samples were taken to the lab on the morning of 6/6/22 (Mon). Results were reported to the water system by the lab on 6/8/22 (Wed) and forwarded to me on 6/10/22 (Fri). The analysis showed that all three repeat samples were absent of coliform bacteria. After consulting with the SRF Circuit Rider (Dan Vaage with Civil West), I called and spoke to Brian Yelle on 6/10/22 (Fri) who said that he had thought the lab had already reported the results to me. The results were not on our website, so I requested he forward them to me and I forwarded them for data entry. I also spoke with Brian about having Dan conduct an evaluation of their disinfection system and then follow up with a tracer study. Brian seemed agreeable to the assistance, so I e-mailed Brian Dan's contact info and asked Brian to keep me updated on their progress. The water system is back on monthly coliform sampling as the repeat samples were absent of coliform bacteria. | ||
