Details: | Environmental Health (REHS Reiley) spoke to Tony today as follow up to email re next steps to manage coliform alert response and boil notice system wide. Tony advised of the following: • Until confirmation samples are clear of coliform, stay on boil notice. • Crank up the chlorinator: Residual appears really low. Let’s get up to 2-3 ppm for a couple of days. • Ask folks to keep flushing toilets and running water to get movement through the lines. • Once chlorine has had a chance to do its job, collect at least 2 samples in different, representative points in the distribution system. Label them as “special” rather than repeat or routine. • Triggered (source) sample: If there is a sample tap at the well, please draw from there. If not, pre-chlorinator in the pumphouse will do. EH to follow up when results are available. Level 2 investigation is scheduled for November 4. UPDATE NOV 5: Operator unavailable for meeting. Will reschedule. Severe weather day contributes to delay. |
