Reasons:	Coliform Operations

Details:	HSPR has been working with Curry County Emergency Management on potential health and medical impacts related to the closure of Hwy 101 South of Port Orford in Curry County. The City of Gold Beach expressed concern about the sustainability of sending water samples to MacCowan lab in Coos Bay. ODOT expects the highway to be closed for at least one and half weeks. I contacted Anthony Pagano with the city of Gold Beach and put him in contact with Mark Haglund. Water samples for Brookings are mailed to Grants Pass Water Lab. This would be an option for Gold Beach. Mark is willing to provide Lab sample bottles and provide more details on how to mail the samples. Per Mark's instructions, samples would have to be collected and delivered to the Board Walk Mail Services by 1:00 pm today. Another option is to mail the samples to Neilson Research Corporation. This would make things even easier since Gold Beach already has an account with Neilson’s lab. Anthony will reach out to Neilson’s lab to determine if this is a viable option.
