| Details: | 01.30.2026 - The DRC provided a copy of the PN for not meeting CT and NTU standard during the month of November 2025. Customers notified on 01.30.2026. The system has chosen to remain on a boil until they can be sure the system is able to consistently meet NTU and CT requirements. Next steps: The system has purchased a new NTU chart recorder to fix inaccurate turbidity readings. they are trying to get a free, used monitor (streaming Current Monitor) and are making plans to double their water storage to help with contact time and fire protection. They are even looking at buying a used 10k gallon tank from a local fire department. The idea is to use this poly tank as a pretreatment tank so they can stop pulling water from their pond when the pond water turbidity level gets too high to treat. Regarding the raw water tank: adding a poly tank as a buffer for raw water will not require prior state approval or a formal plan review. However, the operator is advised to ensure the tank is NSF-61 approved for potable water use. 01.20.2026 - Kortney informed me that Business Oregon approved purchasing a new chart plotter ahead of the water plant upgrade. The equipment was already budgeted for the project, and they are allowing Garden Valley to order and install a new electronic turbidity chart plotter immediately. Next steps: The plotter was ordered today and is scheduled for delivery on Monday. Once it arrives, Garden Valley will schedule the installation and confirm when it is in place and operating. While the new unit has Wi-Fi capabilities, the water system does not have the necessary infrastructure yet; however, there are plans to add Wi-Fi during future improvements. |
