| Details: | I called Gene Ramey because I never received a response to the letter requiring an action due to trihalomethanes exceeding the MCL at the water system. Gene explained he received the letter but was new to drinking water and didn't know exactly what trihalomethanes are. I told Gene they are chemical compounds formed when chlorine binds to organic compounds in the drinking water. I stated that DWS needs confirmation that public notice was issued to the residents at Sunset Lake RV Park and then that DWS needs a written plan showing how the contamination will be resolved. Gene said he would check with the park manager but thought she had issued the public notice. Gene also mentioned that he'd ordered a new chlorine feed pump for the water system and I mentioned that DWS will need monitoring to demonstrate the contamination is resolved before accepting any explanation for why the chemicals exceeded the MCL. | ||
