Details: 06.01.2020 Contacted the operator to clarify why the system reported low UV disinfection levels during the months of April and March. After dicussing the issue with the operator, it turned out that the “Hours Below Minimum” were reported in error. The UV system detected a low dose and shot down - per design. No untreated water passed through the distribution lines.

I contacted DWS and requested these two violations to be removed. Since there is no violation in this particular case, no Tier 2 notice needed. Per DWS instructions, the operator was instructed to send an amended report for March and April, documenting in the right column a comment indicating "system shut down - no water sent to the reservoir".
