Details: SUMMARY: TC+ repeat DETAILS: Elloise called to let us know that the 1 of the repeats from the 8/17 TC+ sample was also TC+ EC-. The other two were TC-. The same location was TC+ (outlet of res 1 on Mt Tabor). The sample tap was replumbed in the spring 2010, but they have had some problems with it, so are not sure how to resolve it. One of their other 2 repeats was from a tap directly out of the reservoir (1), and the other was from a point further downstream, before the reservoir was taken off line. They are doing side by side tests using 2 methods, colilert 18 (PWB lab not certified) vs colilert (certified). They are finding that the colilert 18 method is more sensitive to TC+ but takes 6 hours less time to analyze. They will collect more repeats today, but since the reservoir was taken off-line, this will represent water from the distribution system, not the open reservoir. ACTION NEEDED: meeting with PWB and DWP on 8/31 to discuss coliform detects at open reservoirs.
