| Details: | SUMMARY: Emergency intertie DETAILS: The city of Bend is planning to install an emergency intertie with Avion Water Company (#00091). The city will be blending chlorinated water with non-chlorinated water. The Drinking Water Program must be notified when the emergency intertie is used. Chlorine residual levels will be monitored in the area being served by the intertie while the emergency situation is being resolved. If prolonged use of emergency water is needed or if a detectable residual cannot be maintained, increased coliform monitoring may be required and/or chlorination of untreated water. Procedures for activating intertie, monitoring water quality, and chlorination must be included in the emergency response plan. There is no specified limit to the number of days the intertie can be activated since emergency situations vary. ACTION NEEDED: The DWP will evaluate as needed. | ||
