Details: SUMMARY: Reported Residents Complaint to PWB re: 3 contamination points DETAILS: Complainer had already contacted PWB. He said he would call back later to check the progress of his complaint. Peter contacted PWB to verify that they addressed the complaint as much as was rational. PWB has, in fact, reported it to a manager for action, if any.

Details:

The complainer said that Portlands water is being contaminated at 3 points in the distribution. There are purported contamination points at:
Killingsworth and Interstate
90th & (SW) Barbur
99th & SE Stark

He talked about bacteriological contaminations and aesthetic issues.
Me: "How do you know" [about the contaminations]?
Him: "I saw it"
Me: "Is this a drill?"
Him: "No, ..." he began editorializing about the power of water, before ending the conversation.

The monotonous tone of voice had me thinking it was a security drill at first which is scheduled for this week. But I asked someone involved with the exercise, and discovered that if it were a drill they would identify themselves. ACTION NEEDED: If complainer calls back, ask for more details on how the water system could be contaminated and with what, precisely.

(It seems he may be confused on how the sewer system and the drinking water system are kept separate.)
