Details: SUMMARY: Excessive Leakage Investigation DETAILS: The system contacted HBH regarding leakage in the combined system at Elmira High School and Elem School. Currently the district is losing approximately 40% of the water produced by the system due to leakage. Water is supplied from a small well located on the south side of the High School campus. Water is chlorinated and caustic soda is added for pH adjustment prior to going to the water storage tank. From there water is re-pressurized via a booster pump and distributed through a common line to both the high school and elementary school. This well is the only source of potable water for both schools. The school requested that HBH assist with the performance of a Contact Tracer Study to determine the contact time before the first user in the schools. HBH visited school to inspect the facilities and discuss testing procedures with Mr Thiessen and collected data needed to compose methodology. ACTION NEEDED: Develop testing methodology and perform tracer testing.
