  Comments:
1. The east hatch at the Arlington Heights Reservoir #1 must be watertight with curbing and an overlapping lid. Also, the tank seems to be lacking an air vent, which could be problematic. 2. Penridge tank is not inspected, so operator was not aware of screening on vent, condition of the hatch, or if the overflow had a flap valve. If the tank is to remain in service, these items must be inspected regularly. 3. Vent screens on the Powell Butte tanks #2 must be repaired. Vent screens on Powell Butte tank #1 (7 million gallon tank) have a shield over them, making it difficult to inspect, though holes in the screens were found in at least one. Consider another system that would allow for more frequent inspection of the condition of the screens. 4. Powell Butte reservoir’s north cell access had water dripping into the reservoir on the date of inspection. This must be made watertight. 5. We have no record of plan review for the Whitwood Upper and Saltzman tanks. Burlingame tanks were rehabbed in 2010 without plan review. Plan review must be submitted for these projects.
